VAL THORENS SKI AREA

A paradise for piste skiing and freeriding! One of the world’s largest ski areas has something for everyone, from beginner slopes to ski-cross and freestyle facilities, Europe’s longest toboggan run, snowmobile outings and car and kart racing on ice. Linked to Orelle, Courchevel and Méribel, the area offers snow-sports enthusiasts 6 months on the slopes, from November to May. In the resort and on the slopes, there are plenty of bars and mountain restaurants with music and a lively atmosphere. Bar à Mix, La Folie Douce, Le 360, Malaysia and Le Jacky are legendary places to party in Val Thorens, by day and by night.

DINING AND ENTERTAINMENT ON THE SLOPES...

Throughout winter, several mountain restaurants welcome you from breakfast when the slopes open until late afternoon when they close. Menus range from cooked dishes to quick snacks. Some venues turn into open-air dance floors in the early afternoon, with DJs and performers creating a lively musical atmosphere. Explore the slopes and discover our selection: La Folie Douce and its restaurant La Fruitière: via the Plein Sud chairlift. Les Aiguilles de Péclet: at 3,000 m, via the Péclet Funitel. Les Chalets du Thorens and its 360 bar. Le Chalet de Caron: at the foot of Cime Caron, via the Cairn or Caron gondolas or car park P4. Le Chalet des Deux Lacs: just above Lac de Tête Ronde, via the 2 Lacs drag lift or Moutière chairlift. Chalet La Moutière: views of Cime Caron and Grand Fond, via the Moutière chairlift or Grand Fond Funitel. Chalet Le Caribou: via the Moraine chairlift.

RELAX AND UNWIND

The resort offers several treatment centres and spas. Le Board’s wellness area has a pool, hot tubs, 3 saunas, a steam room and 10 treatment and massage rooms. Private establishments including Le Marielle, L’Oxalys, Le Pashmina, Le Fitz Roy, Le Sherpa and Koh-I Nor also offer spas and treatments throughout the winter season.

SKI SHOP – SALES AND HIRE

Why cross the whole resort to collect your ski equipment or replace the gloves you left 600 km away? Ski Loc 2300 makes it easy: the shop is just 20 m from your residence’s ski locker. You will find all kinds of skis, snowboards, ski bikes, snowshoes and racing sledges, as well as helmets, goggles, gloves, accessories and technical clothing to keep you warm on the slopes. Mention Val Thorens Cosy to benefit from a discount on both equipment hire and purchases.

LA MAISON

In the heart of the resort, La Maison serves traditional cuisine and is one of our favourite places to eat. From your first morning coffee to lunch on the sunny terrace or inside its beautifully renovated British-meets-Alpine interior, Fabien, Romain and their team offer a warm welcome, tempting food and friendly smiles throughout winter. We recommend the meat dishes, pizzas — especially the Parma — and, of course, their homemade pastries.

SUCRÉ - SALÉ

Just below the residence, this is the morning stop for croissants, coffee and orange juice for everyone, and a convenient place for a quick lunchtime snack. Choose from a wide range of breads, pastries and cakes, as well as sandwiches, salads, quiches and indulgent desserts.

FOOD SHOPPING

Several grocery shops, including Carrefour Montagne, Sherpa and Spar, are within 200 m of the residence. We also recommend La Ferme de Thorens in the Caron shopping gallery for charcuterie, meat, cheese and prepared dishes. Its friendly team will introduce you to some of the best Savoyard specialities.
