Drawing on our own experiences, we have selected restaurants and places for a quick bite in Val Thorens.
LA MAISON
In the heart of the resort, La Maison serves traditional cuisine and is our favourite place to eat. From your first morning coffee to lunch on the sunny terrace or in its beautifully renovated British-meets-Alpine interior, Fabien, Romain and their team offer a warm welcome, tempting food and friendly smiles throughout winter. We recommend the meat dishes, pizzas — especially the Parma — and, of course, the homemade pastries.
LE VIEUX CHALET
Just opposite the Silveralp residence and open in winter and summer, Le Vieux Chalet offers a traditional Savoyard atmosphere, with exceptional lunchtime views over the junction of the slopes and the surrounding peaks. The menu features local favourites such as raclette and fondue, alongside the chef’s specialities. Meat lovers can try venison stew, calf’s head and suckling pig. Enjoy delicious food and friendly, attentive service.
LE RENDEZ-VOUS
On the bend in Rue du Soleil overlooking the junction of the slopes, Le Rendez-vous is ideal for a lunchtime terrace break in your ski boots, late-afternoon après-ski or an aperitif before dinner. Completely renovated in 2022 under new ownership, it has become one of our favourites for its food and its convenient location, just 80 m from the residence. Its varied Savoyard and Italian menu includes local specialities, pizzas and pasta, burgers and rib steaks, mussels and squid, cheeses, desserts and excellent pastry platters.
LA PAILLOTE
Yannick, who already owned La Piscine in the same shopping gallery, took over La Paillote in 2023. This well-known restaurant is a reliable choice for good food indoors or on a sunny terrace with panoramic resort views. Enjoy traditional local dishes featuring melted Savoyard cheeses, daily specials, the chef’s specialities, and excellent pizzas and burgers also available to take away. The owner’s traditional génépi hospitality rounds off the friendly atmosphere.
CAMPAILLETTE
From traditional bread and varied sandwiches to indulgent tarts and quiches, Campaillette offers quick bites to eat in or take away. In the Caron shopping gallery, Brenda, Bruno and their children welcome you warmly in winter and summer. Order cakes and tarts to enjoy back at your apartment. We especially recommend the blueberry crumble tart and walnut tart.
SUCRÉ SALÉ
Just opposite the Silveralp residence, Sucré Salé serves pastries, cakes, sandwiches, pizzas, quiches and tarts from early morning until late afternoon. Discover jams, preserves, terrines and artisan Savoyard products, as well as bottled natural fruit juices or freshly squeezed juices. Sucré Salé delivers to your door throughout the resort!
LE PREMIO SNACK BAR
Under the arcades on Rue Caron, sheltered from the snow, Le Premio offers hot sandwiches, kebabs, French tacos, burgers, paninis and steak-and-chip sandwiches, plus pizzas to eat between runs or take home. Open in summer and winter, it also serves waffles, crêpes, churros, coffee, hot chocolate, tea and soft drinks to take away or enjoy on its sunny terrace. Quick, friendly service makes it a convenient stop before returning to the slopes or an easy alternative to cooking dinner.
LE TIVOLI
On Place Caron, Le Tivoli offers warm indoor seating and a sunny terrace. Enjoy tasty, authentic cooking: daily specials, Savoyard cheese and charcuterie boards, salads, meat and hot-stone grills, pizzas, fish and pasta, as well as raclette and fondue. Open in summer and winter, the restaurant offers a warm welcome and friendly service.
LE CLUB 72
On Place Péclet in the upper part of Val Thorens, Club 72 is an established favourite with a steakhouse atmosphere, open flames and a selection of prestigious meats including Angus, Aubrac and Simmental. The restaurant also serves seafood and vegetarian dishes, alongside Savoyard raclette and fondue. Leave room for homemade desserts, to share or enjoy on your own. Continuous service from 3 pm to 1.30 am, with a lively, quirky bar atmosphere from 4 pm.
